GHANA

Through Presbyterians Sharing…we support Rev. Dr. Donald MacKay and Rev. Marion Barclay Mackay as they work with our partner church, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. They are posted at the Nsaba Lay Training Centre in the eastern region of Ghana where they serve as facilitators and teachers in lay education. They organize and teach special ministerial training courses for mature candidates entering the ministry, as well as offering courses for lay ministers, women, ecumenical guests, ministers and group leaders. Let us pray for Donald and Marion as they help to encourage and assist people in Ghana to grow in faith and Christian service within their communities.

CANADA: Presbytery of Brandon

Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing…we help support St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Flin Flon, Manitoba. After a time of re-development, this congregation is focusing on two of its stronger areas worship and pastoral care. Music ministry is being enhanced during Sunday worship, and a Prayer and Anointing service is held every second month for those who find a meditative style of worship meaningful. There is a desire to draw closer not only to God, but also to one another through pastoral care. The whole congregation is making this a part of their ministry to each other. As we support Presbyterians Sharing…lit us pray for St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

TAIWAN

Through Presbyterians Sharing…we support Rev. Murray Garvin, an English teacher at Yu Shan Theological College and Seminary in Taiwan. A linguistics specialist has recently been added to the faculty, and he is helping students with basic pronunciation skills and English teachers with linguistic techniques. Murray has been teaching for three years, and finds that the most difficult part of his work is saying goodbye to students when they graduate! He enjoys the positive spirit that is present at the college, and finds the atmosphere at Yu Shan to be a very warm and loving one. As we give to Presbyterians Sharing...let us pray for Murray and the students and faculty at Yu Shan.

CANADA: Presbytery of Saskatchewan

Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing…help support Mistawasis Memorial Church on the Misatawasis Reserve in Saskatchewan. The congregation is working to complete much needed building renovations, and exploring ways to actively promote healing and reconciliation within its community. There is a strong desire within the congregation to share their story with the wider church, and to make connections with others who want to grow in their understanding of native people. As we give to Presbyterians Sharing... let us pray for Mistawasis Memorial church and those in the Mistawasis community.

Nigeria

Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing…support Arlene Onuoha as she works with The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN). Arlene is Administrative Secretary and Finance Officer of the National Directorate of Missions (NDM). The NDM is working to restructure and expand so that it includes more areas of Nigeria. Arlene is also one of the ministers at Ogbor Hill Parish, where she preaches when needed. She is in charge of the Children’s Church at St. Paul’s in Aba, meeting with teachers each week and helping them to prepare for each week’s lesson. As we support Presbyterians Sharing… let us pray for Arlene and her work in Nigeria.

CANADA: Presbytery of Winnipeg

Through Presbyterians Sharing…we help support St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Thompson, Manitoba. This congregation is exploring new ways to live out its mission and to serve God. A team from St. Andres’s attended the Presbyterian Church in Canada’s Stewards by Design conference in November, 2006. They felt inspired and encourage that, despite being a small church, they have much to be positive about and thankful for. Over the coming year they look forward to inspiring others to become more active in their church’s ministry. As we give to Presbyterians sharing… let us pray for St. Andrew’s, Thompson.

Romania

Through Presbyterians Sharing…we support Brian Johnston, an English and Music teacher at the Theological Seminary of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Cluj, Romania. Brian is director of the seminary’s male choir, which toured in Eastern Canada in the fall of 2006. Strong bonds were formed between choir members and the congregations they visited, and the choir felt truly blessed by their experience in Canada. They returned to Romania with a new energy and a strong sense of spiritual fulfillment. As we support Presbyterians Sharing…let us pray for Brian and the choir as they continue to share their faith through song.

CANADA Presbytery of Peace River

Through Presbyterians Sharing…we help support Knox Presbyterian Church in Wanham, AB. The population in this area of Alberta is declining, and attendance at Knox has dropped as a result. Munroe Presbyterian Church in Blueberry Mountain, part of a two-point charge with Knox, closed in December of 2006 after 70 years of ministry. Despite these setbacks, Knox continues to minister to the community. It hosts an after school drop-in program called Snack Attack during the winter and a Vacation Bible School in the summer (run by a team from Youth in Mission). As we give to Presbyterians Sharing…let us pray for the people of Knox as they maintain their faith during difficult times.
