Minister's
Message December 2005 A CHILD FOR US "For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6) The miracle of birth is both amazing and wonderful. The prophet Isaiah wrote of a child whose coming would be significant for the people of Isreal. This child was especially gifted, and would bring great joy to the people of God. He would belong to all. We believe that the prophecy of Isaiah was fulfilled in Jesus and we rejoice in the gift of God's love through Christ. God gave a child to us. During this season, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, God's child, an event of special significance for the whole world and for each of us. Jesus was indeed a child born for us, bringing the wisdom, power, car and benevolence of God into human hearts willign to receive Him who "...is named wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Heather , Brett and Elizabeth join me in wishing all our friends at Caledonia Presbyterian Church a Very Happy and Blessed Christmas. The Rev. Thomas G. Vais |
