SALEM COTTAGE WMS...
It is with great sadness, that after 120 years, we announce the disbanding of one of our longest running Church Groups, Salem Cottage Women’s' Missionary Society. Over the years the membership has been declining and thus has prompted the closing of this Chapter of Salem Cottage WMS. Some churches throughout the Presbytery have also come to this sad conclusion. Please take the time to read about the History behind this wonderful organization. A very long standing part of our Church History is about to come to a halt. At this time we would like to thank ALL the members of Salem Cottage WMS for their hard work and dedication to this organization over the past 120 years. |

| Musical prayers known as litanies were sung in Christian churches as early as 100 A>D. to celebrate the birth of Christ. Hymns written especially for Christmas date back to the A.D. 400s and most of them were written in Latin. St. Francis of Assisi is remembered as the father of carolling because he encouraged all church members, and not just the officials, to praise the Lord in song. Let us all praise the Lord at this special Season. May you have a blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year. The Senior & Junior Choirs Luella Albin, Music Director Michael Lines, Assistant Karen Richardson, Jr. Choir Director Cole MacDonald, Accompanist, Jr. Choir |
